The Critical Difference: Text PDF vs. Image PDF
It is essential to understand that this tool is NOT an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool. Its success depends entirely on the type of PDF you upload:
- ✅ Text-Based PDFs (Native): These are PDFs created from a program like Word, Google Docs, or a "Print to PDF" function. You can click and drag your mouse to select the text. **This tool works perfectly with these files.**
- ❌ Scanned (Image) PDFs: These are PDFs created from a physical scanner. The file is just a photograph of a page. You cannot select the text. **This tool will NOT work on these files.** It will produce an empty or jumbled document because it sees no text to extract.
